Our Process

one of a kind

a unique formula

for high-end hardwood

Our solid & engineered hardwood flooring is milled from the finest quality hardwoods, harvested from the Appalachian region. Sheoga’s established reputation of more than 40 years has gained recognition among the flooring industry for our unparalleled manufacturing of hardwood flooring products that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.

Unlike the industry standard of using lower-grade lumber to manufacture hardwood flooring, Sheoga’s unique formula of components includes premium, furniture-grade lumber in the mix of raw materials to manufacture our high-end hardwood floors. As experience has taught us, it is best to naturally air-dry our lumber for several months prior to kiln-drying. Once the natural seasoning process is complete, we kiln-dry, equalize and condition all lumber to a final moisture content of 6% – 8%, which is ideal for hardwood flooring manufacturing.

Since 2014, Sheoga has specialized in 3/4″ Engineered Hardwood flooring.

The substrate is a cross-grained, 11-ply Baltic Birch plywood, which is adhered to the wood veneer with a hot melt, urethane adhesive.

Sheoga’s 3/4″ Engineered flooring has a wear layer which is the same thickness as our solid hardwood flooring:

Due to the thickness of our wear layer, over 5.25mm thickness, we are able to offer our quality engineered flooring in Smooth or all 6 of our Textured styles.

our guarantee

proper care from start to finish

Under our careful watch, the lumber is guaranteed to be properly kiln-dried for flooring and paneling applications. From the dry kilns, the lumber is moved into our temperature-controlled warehouse, where it remains until it is precisely milled, with diamond tooling, to produce high-quality prefinished hardwood flooring or wood paneling. Many of our team members have been with us since 1982 and are united to producing consistent quality. In addition, our molders are run at slow production speeds and are hand-fed to achieve a superior fitting tongue-and-groove and end-match.
